Arun Sankar U is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland. He received his B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from College of Engineering Trivandrum, India in 2009 and M.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India in 2013. His current research focuses on designing wireless charging Systems for Electric Vehicles (EV)”.
Besides, his research expertise covers a wide range in power electronics such as – high-density power conversion solutions for EV onboard charging, power quality improvement for front-end AC-DC converters, design of power electronic interfaces for solar applications etc. Prior to joining MPEL, he worked as a research assistant at IIT Kanpur on grid-connected high step-up PV converter systems.
Besides, he is an avid fan of exploring new gadgets and loves driving long distances.
