Firehiwot Gurara is a senior Electrical and Computer Engineering student at Cornell University. Before transferring to Cornell, she attended Montgomery College. Her summer research project is focused on setting up Wi-Fi communication channel for a wireless charging system. Her interest in power and energy topics arises from the electric power problems she experienced while growing up in Ethiopia. She is mainly interested in power electronics and its application in renewable energy systems.
