Arafat Hasnain is a Ph.D. student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Maryland, College Park. He received his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University in 2017 and 2019 respectively. He has previously worked on microgrid grid-tied inverter control, bi-directional full-bridge dc-dc converter analysis and modeling and control of dc-dc converters particularly resonant CLLC converters. His current research interests include characterization of wide-bandgap devices (SiC and GaN), design and optimization of power electronic converters for renewable energy and transportation electrification purposes.
In his spare time, Arafat enjoys reading books and watching sports, particularly soccer and basketball.
