Yongwan Park received his Electrical Engineering Ph.D. degree in July 2021 at the University of Maryland, College Park. Yongwan joined the Maryland Power Electronics Laboratory (MPEL) in 2018. He received B.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Ajou University, South Korea, and State University of New York at Stony Brook with Honors, in 2015. He also received his M.S. degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook, in 2016. His current research focuses on high power DC-DC converter design for electric vehicle chargers. He was the recipient of the Research Experience for Undergraduates scholarship and Undergraduate Recognition Award for Academic Excellence (awarded by the university president), in 2015. Additionally, he was awarded the Clark School of Engineering Distinguished Graduate Fellowship in the University of Maryland, in 2016.
Yongwan enjoys watching soccer and playing badminton and racquetball.
